Cabin Classes


Southwest Airlines' fleet comprises several Boeing 737 classes: 200, 300, 500, 700 and 800. Seat pitch ranges from 32 to 33 inches, and seat width is 17 inches. Very light snacks, hot and cold beverages are complimentary and alcoholic drinks may be purchased via credit card only. In-flight entertainment comprises the onboard magazine and Southwest is in the process of equipping its fleet with WiFi.


Each traveller may bring aboard 1 personal item, such as a purse or briefcase, and 1 bag with maximum dimensions 25cms x 40cms x 60cms. Two checked bags are permitted per passenger providing each bag is a maximum of 23kgs and the sum of its dimensions doesn't exceed 157cms. Excess baggage attracts a fee and is only accepted if there is sufficient space.

Check-in Options

Counter check-in is recommended between 3 hours and 60 minutes prior to flight time, depending upon departure airport. Kiosk check-in is available at select airports and online check-in may be completed between 24 hours and 60 minutes prior to departure. It's also possible to check-in via a web-enabled mobile device but passengers are still required to print a boarding card.
